Gerard Passet

An attractive original oil on canvas by Gerard Passet (French, 1936–2013), titled “Paysage aux Peupliers” (Landscape with Poplars).

The composition depicts an expansive French rural landscape with a winding country road, open fields and a distinctive line of tall poplar trees. Passet’s textured, expressive brushwork and restrained natural palette give the landscape wonderful depth and atmosphere.

The painting is signed “Gerard Passet” lower right, and is additionally titled and signed verso. The reverse also bears a Galerie De Cecile label, providing an interesting gallery provenance.

Presented in its substantial period-style gilt and dark wood frame with a Gerard Passet name plaque.

Condition
