Jan Van Hessel (Dutch, 20th Century) Jan Van Hessel Dutch Winter Landscape Oil Painting Ice Skating Figures

A charming winter landscape oil painting attributed to Jan Van Hessel, a 20th-century Dutch artist. The scene depicts figures skating across a frozen lake in a traditional Dutch winter setting, with snow-covered banks, bare trees, rustic houses and a windmill in the distance.

The artist captures the atmosphere of a cold winter’s day through a muted palette of soft greys, icy greens and warm golden tones in the cloudy sky. The small figures bring life and movement to the peaceful rural scene, evoking the character of traditional Dutch winter landscape paintings.

The painting is presented in an impressive ornate gilt frame with decorative detailing and a contrasting black inner border, creating an elegant display suitable for a traditional or contemporary interior.

An attractive decorative piece for collectors of Dutch-style landscapes, winter scenes and traditional oil paintings.
