The work is indistinctly signed lower right, appearing to read “Guv? Ciappa” / G. Ciappa.

Condition

Antique condition consistent with age. The painted surface shows age-related craquelure, surface marks, scratches and areas of wear, all visible in the photographs. There is a noticeable fine vertical line/crack to the panel/painted surface. The gilt frame also displays age-related wear and marks.
