Description
A charming and atmospheric 18th/19th-century Dutch School genre painting, depicting a poacher or game seller with a woman, surrounded by hunted game and birds.
The scene is painted in warm, earthy tones, with strong contrasts of light and shadow and finely observed figures and details. The painting is unsigned and executed in oil on oak panel.
Presented in an impressive antique carved and gilded wooden frame, which complements the period character of the artwork beautifully.
A particularly decorative example of Dutch genre painting, suitable for collectors of antique European paintings or as an elegant statement piece for a traditional, country-house or period interior.
