The work is presented in a gilt frame and appears to have been framed by J. Davey & Sons, Manchester, according to the original framer’s label on the reverse.

Condition Description

Good vintage condition overall with age-related wear.

The painting displays well, with attractive colour, texture and impasto. There is visible craquelure / cracking to areas of the painted surface, particularly noticeable in the darker mountain sections and sky. Some age-related marks, surface wear and possible varnish discolouration are present.

The frame has wear, scuffs, chips and age-related losses, especially around the edges and corners. The backing paper and rear frame area show age, wear, tears and old tape repairs. Please study all photos carefully, as they form part of the description.
