Gerard Passet

A beautiful original oil painting by listed French artist Gerard Passet (1939–2013), entitled “Village Sur Les Rives De L’Yonne.”

Painted in oil on canvas, the work depicts a peaceful village landscape on the banks of the River Yonne in France, with calm reflective water surrounded by mature trees and traditional houses in the distance.

Passet’s expressive brushwork and attractive natural palette of greens, ochres and soft blues beautifully capture the light and tranquillity of the French countryside.

The painting is signed lower right and is additionally titled and signed verso. The reverse also bears an O. G. Mell Galleries, Piccadilly, London label, adding interesting gallery provenance.

Presented in a substantial gilt frame with a linen-effect inner slip and ready for display.
