A beautiful 20th century Modern British oil on board landscape by W. Wiles, titled Hampstead Heath.
The painting depicts a luminous view across Hampstead Heath, with expressive brushwork, soft evening light, distant blue hills and richly painted green foreground. The sky is handled with loose, atmospheric strokes, giving the work a wonderful sense of movement and warmth.
Signed and dated lower right: “W. Wiles, 19(73)”. Presented in an ornate decorative gilt frame, with a framer’s label to the reverse for Hawkswells, Canterbury, Kent.
A very attractive Modern British landscape, ideal for collectors of London views, Hampstead Heath scenes, 20th century British art, or expressive impressionistic landscapes.
Condition:
