Fine Early Victorian Gentleman Portrait, Dated 1835

An impressive and highly decorative 19th-century oil on canvas portrait attributed to Samuel Mountjoy Smith (1809–1874), depicting a distinguished gentleman holding a document. The reverse retains evidence linking the work to the artist, including the inscription and relining documentation.
