Rudolf Epp

An attractive antique oil painting on canvas by Rudolf Epp, German artist 1834–1910, depicting a smiling young lady seated at a table, raising a glass of red wine. The composition includes a wine carafe, plate and pastry/bread on the table, with the sitter dressed in traditional-style attire, a green scarf, dark bodice and wide-brimmed hat with feather.

The painting is signed lower right “Rud. Epp” and dated “97”, indicating 1897. It is presented in a decorative gilt frame with ornate relief detail.
