Description
Beautiful antique French oil painting by Henri Santin depicting a charming French chateau in a peaceful rural landscape. Executed in oil on wooden panel with rich impasto brushwork and atmospheric light typical of late 19th century French landscape painting.
The painting is signed lower right and appears dated “77” (believed to be 1877). An inscription lower right reads “a Monsieur F. Putois”. The reverse retains an old handwritten label identifying the artist and subject.
Presented in an attractive period-style giltwood frame.
