Marian Munchen

Original signed 20th-century landscape painting by Marian Munchen, depicting a peaceful alpine scene with traditional chalets beside a small lake or pond, surrounded by trees and dramatic mountain peaks.

The painting features expressive brushwork and areas of textured impasto, particularly across the foreground, buildings and snow-covered mountains. Its muted greens, blues, greys and soft pink tones create an atmospheric rural mountain setting.

Signed “Marian Munchen” in the lower-left corner.

Presented in a substantial vintage gilt-effect wooden frame with a linen-textured inner border and gold-toned slip. The frame complements the painting and is ready to hang.

Condition

The painting is in good vintage condition overall, with age-related surface marks, light dirt and minor wear visible on close inspection. There are some small marks and imperfections to the painted surface consistent with its age.

The frame has visible age-related wear, including scratches, rubbing, small chips and areas of loss to the gilt finish. The rear shows wear, old fixing materials and marks associated with previous hanging and framing.
