Jan van Couver (1864–1910) Dutch artist Jan van Couver (1864-1910) Dutch Rural Winter Landscape Oil Painting Gilt Frame

A beautiful antique oil painting by Jan van Couver (1864–1910), depicting a charming Dutch rural landscape beneath a dramatic, atmospheric sky.

The composition features a winding country lane following a tranquil stream, with a traditional windmill in the distance, grazing cattle in the open fields and a solitary figure walking along the muddy path. A tall, leafless tree dominates the foreground, adding depth and character to this evocative landscape.

Painted in a subtle palette of muted greys, earthy browns and soft greens, the work captures the quiet atmosphere of the Dutch countryside during the colder months. The expressive brushwork and expansive sky give the painting a wonderful sense of space and natural light.

The painting is signed lower right and presented in a decorative modern swept gilt frame, which complements the traditional character of the artwork beautifully.

An attractive statement piece for collectors of Dutch landscape paintings, antique oil paintings and traditional European art. Its impressive size makes it particularly suitable for a living room, hallway, study or country-style interior.
